Trenton Payne has first hand knowledge of what it's like to introduce your children to the idea of divorce and step parenting. His experiences became the impetus for creating picture books that broach such topics. The tricky part? Still making it entertaining! And don't hit readers over the head with a lecture! Rule number one is get kids excited about books.
He worked for over three years at the Polensky Children’s Center in San Diego, a county-run facility housing abandoned and neglected children ages 0-17. He also trained staff in the Boy’s Town behavioral modification process and adapted it to younger children ages 4-6.
"Heroes, Villains, and Vincent" won a 2013 Moonbeam Gold Medal Award.
"Heroes, Villains, and Vincent" also took 2nd place under Family Matters in the Purple Dragonfly Book award.
Currently, he is finishing his first science fiction novel for older audiences.
