BABY STARLING

This is a concept project using musicians from all over the world focusing on folksy goth music. The process was really unique for me when creating a song. I would write an incredibly simple old-time hymn, add lyrics to it, then hand it off to a real songwriter and they put their modern spin on the melody, the lyrics, etc. Then, if I felt I needed more overlays from other musicians, I would mix that in as well. That’s why every song sounds incredibly different from the last. Inspired greatly by the anthology type albums released by the collective “This Mortal Coil” in the 80’s. Bands of that era would get together and do covers and unique tracks combining all of their eclectic talents.
